PriceTank compares prices across suppliers so people can see that for themselves, rather than ordering from whoever they've always used.
Calling round for quotes yourself works, but it means tracking several prices at once and it takes time, so most people default to whichever supplier delivered last time.
On a 1,000 litre order it's common to see a 10 to 15p per litre spread between suppliers, working out to £100 to £150 for an identical delivery in the same week.
